Broken Circles Quilt pattern layouts and kits
Hi lovely quilters!
this post is all about our newest pattern release, the Broken Circles Quilt, which fabrics I used for the samples I made for the launch, different layout combinations and where to get your hands on some fabric kits created by lovely independent shops.
The samples
Starting with the samples I created, I have worked with two different shops. For the first quilt, which I chose to make on the baby size, I have collaborated with the ladies at Daisy Box Designs, a Spanish-based company focused on teaching patchwork in Madrid and all around the country.
On both samples, I wanted to use solids to make the design sing and because I have been dreaming of creating a multicoloured quilt for a while. All the colours you see below are Kona Cotton solids.
The colours used for this version are:
- Magenta
- Princess
- Candy Blue
- Lake
- Grasshoper
- Limelight
- Rose
- Baby Pink
- Orange
- Peach
- Corn Yellow
- Buttercup
Here you can see the colours in more detail. I am so in love with this version!
The second quilt I made was this beautiful throw size using all Bella Solids from the amazing UK shop The Fabric Fox. They are also carrying kits using the same colours and fabrics so that you can get started right away!
- White Bleached
- Sisters Pink
- Chrome
- Yellow
- Mustard
- Baby Yellow
- Tangerine
- Cheddar
- Clementine
- Peach
- Bettys Red
- Mandarin
- Rose
- Bettys Pink
- Shocking Pink
- Pink
- Plum
- Sweet Pea
- Sugar Plum
- Freesia
- Terrain Iris

- Light Blue
- Teal
- Aqua
- Jungle
- Kelly
- Green Apple
- Chartreuse
- Steel
- Smoke
As well as that kit, The Fabric Fox has also curated two more kits that you can find in her shop. Take a look at the beautiful mock-ups below!
Apart from these two great businesses, there are plenty of shops in the US, Australia and the rest of Europe carrying similar fabrics. As they are all solids, you will find it easy to get them almost everywhere. Another beautiful shop which have created super nice kits is Floyd the Fox, based in Germany, for all those European quilters wanting to make their own Broken Circles Quilt :) And here you can see the versions she will be carrying fabrics for. Aren't they gorgeous?
Alternative layouts
One of the things I like the most about the Broken Circles Quilt is how versatile the design is. Just by changing which parts of the block you want to highlight or 'hide', your quilt will look completely different.
From solids to prints, from opting to make the sashing shine or let it blend under the background, it is your choice! and the possibilities are endless. Take a look below at some options I've created.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy making the Broken Circles Quilt and don't forget to share your version on social media using the hashtags #cocowawaquilts and #cwbrokencirclesquilt.
