From block to finish Broken Circles Quilt

1. Pining and piecing curves together (tutorial on how to piece curves).
Tip: pin as many units as you can and chain stitch them.
2. Press seam towards the darker fabric, open or to the outer piece.
3. Once curved pieces are sewn together, continue the construction of the block following the instructions.
4. Blocks are done, now join them using the sashing pieces. Follow the quilt assembly diagrams depending on your chosen quilt size.
This first picture is from the baby size sample I made. The second one, is the finished quilt top of the throw size. I will always be amazed at how different quilts look depending on fabric choice and which parts you want to highlight or 'hide'.
4. Now it comes the quilting part. Baste stitch or use safety pins. Doodle and plan your design before starting. Use a walking foot.
I decided to go for an off-centered curvy design. I opted for safety pins this time around and I also used quilting gloves to help me move the quilt around.
And here is the final result. After this, I trim the excess wadding and backing before creating the bias binding tape.
5. I create my bias tape cutting several 2 1/2'' wide strips and stitched it to the quilt first with the machine to the right side and then to the back with needle and thread.
